Date:14th November
November Sunshine welcomes me to a bright new day
My Shadow lazily walks with me on the pathway
A fluttering butterfly teases me to give it a chase
A puddle tempts me to dirty my shoe and lace
What’s so special? Why is the nature so inviting today?
If it is special, then why am I spending the day like everyday?
Aah! There I see some kids playing & making chirpy noise
I stop and wish to be with them when I hear my Mom’s voice
“Come Fast” she shouts, breaking my daydreams’s rhythm
“We’re late. Got to rush” she continues in her regular anthem
“ Mama” walking ahead slowly towards her “I want to play”
She worries “you’ve just recovered. What if you fall ill, God not May!”
“Please Mama. Wait. Wait Mama, wait for sometime”
“No! Lets Go.” She Shrugs “There is so much work, I have no time”
"Please Mama! Look! I think there is a party in the garden today
Look out there! Everyone has a cap & there’s cake on the tray"
"Can we join in? It will be so much fun
I can see my friends too, making a run"
"See There! Chirpy Gurls swinging under the rainbow arch
And Ice-Cream Shape Balloons hanging all over the park"
"There! Throwing balloons are my friends at each other
And how cute is that chocolate smudge faced toddler"
"Oh! I just love the giggles, chuckles and its sound
How much fun it is to slide down and hit the ground"
"Land, Water, River, Sea. What is it written on the stair?"
"And why are girls throwing stone and hopping in pair"
"Mama, Please. look out of your smartphone?!" And I turn to see her gazing at something somewhere
Unsure if she is too upset with me and maybe I din’t care
I pull her gently “Mama what Happened?” Am I not Good?”
"No! Not Like that!" She Smiles “I just…just remembered my childhood!"
“Yes!” Mom Exclaims “Today is a Fun Fun Day!”
“Come Let’s Go in” She kisses me “Happy Childrens Day!!”
